Small Pizza Shop Allows Customers To Pay It Forward To Fight Homeless Hunger

This is an absolutely inspiration story. Rosa’s Fresh Pizza in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania started as a simple New York style $1 slice pizza business. The business is owned by Mason Wartman, a former officer worker who decided to make the move into owning a business.

With Rosa’s Fresh Pizza having super low prices, it wasn’t unusual for homeless people to come in and purchase slices, however, there were occasions where some homeless people did not have enough money to pay for a slice.

One day a customer comes in and inquires if any homeless person ever came up short on funds to pay for their pizza. So the customer insisted that he pay it forward. He gave Wartman a dollar for the next homeless person’s pizza. Wartman decided to buy some post-its and put the pre-paid coupon on a board behind the register.

But then Wartman began telling other customers about this pay it forward pizza slice concept and before he knew it, word spread quickly. Since then Rosa’s Fresh Pizza has given away over 10,000 slices to the homeless!

We live in a country of plenty and it’s easy for us to overlook the few with almost nothing. Many of whom trade their dignity every day just for small change so they can afford to by thing like food. There is no feeling in the world like asking a stranger for charity when you are down and out, it’s a pain like nothing else.

I personally hope Rosa’s Fresh Pizza in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania becomes a roaring success and allows him to open many stores! So if you’re in the city of brotherly love be sure to stop by Rosa’s Fresh Pizza and try a slice, you can also pay it forward for the next person in need.? And by the way I hear the pizza is just as good as the owner’s heart.

Surveillance Video Captures Disgusting Florida Cop Treating Homeless Man Like Zoo Animal

A Sarasota, Florida police officer has been exposed on surveillance footage treating a handcuffed homeless man like an animal, by throwing peanuts at the man while he begged for food.

Sarasota has been ranked “meanest city in America” toward the homeless, this according to a national homeless advocacy organization.

In this surveillance video we see a Sarasota police officer identified as Andrew Halpin taunting and throwing peanuts at a handcuffed homeless man, who has been identified as Randy Miller. This took place at the Sarasota County jail where the city houses its prisoners.

The disgusting surveillance video shows Halpin treating Miller like a dog being trained to catch a treat. He appears to tease Miller when he misses, and congratulate him when he catches a peanut in his mouth. At one point you see Halpin kicking a peanut on the floor with his shoe so Halpin can eat it off of the floor. The pure contempt Halpin shows for a fellow human being just radiates from the video.

What’s even more disturbing, it appears other deputies may have been watching this go on, it’s unclear if they were either enjoying the show or just didn’t care to do anything about it.

The Sarasota Police Cheif, Bernadette DiPino was not aware of the incident, until the video was release to the media on Monday July 27, 2015. Here’s what DiPino had to say,

“Due to the actions I’ve seen on camera, I immediately initiated an internal affairs investigation.”

The ACLU has called for Halpin to be fired. Michael Barfield, the vice-president of the ACLU of Florida described Miller’s treatment as “Humiliating”, going on to say,

“I was disgusted, disappointed, then started thinking about why do we always have these incidents in Sarasota?”

Barfield also claims that Halpin has had disciplinary issues within the depart since he joined in 2006. Barfield goes on to say,

“The officer should be fired. We have to send a message that this kind of behavior is not going to be tolerated with someone who is expected to render very good judgement because they have a weapon.”

Miller has had a long history of mental illness and run ins with law enforcement. Miller was in jail after be charged with trespassing at a local convenience store in Sarasota, while drunk. The clerk at the store in question had this to say,

“He was drunk and harassing my customers, asking them for money. I had to call the police.”

A few months ago I wrote an article about a homeless man being interviewed outside of a gas station in Texas. Seeing this video reminds me of his words of wisdom and the sad state of affairs that is our “civilized” society today. This video will hopefully do more than just make people angry, hopefully it will make them reflect on their own humanity and what we can do to change our society. The police want us to remember that “Police Lives Matter”, maybe they should consider extending that courtesy to people like Mr. Miller first before asking the public to care about them?

Mike Huckabee, Kim Davis, And Pope Francis. Now It’s Officially A Party! (SATIRE)

On Monday everyone’s favorite wacky Kentucky clerk, Kim Davis went back to work. That is if you call NOT doing the specific job you’re hired to do “work.”

Davis magnamously declared that she shall not “interefere” with her deputies if they choose to issue marriage licences to same-sex couples. However, queen Davis declared they will not be authorized by her hand and she questioned their validity.

Monday was the Rowan County clerks first day back in the office, since serving time in jail after Davis defied a federal Judge’s order. It seems that Davis has a new apprecation for her freedom, although not so much for the freedoms of same sex couples.

Here’s what Davis said,

“I want the whole world to know…If any [deputy clerk] feels that they must issue an unauthorized license to avoid being thrown in jail, I understand their tough choice, and I will take no action against them,” she said. “However, any unauthorized license that they issue will not have my name, my title or my authority on it. Instead, the license will state that they are issued pursuant to a federal court order.”

Former Arkansas governor, Mike Huckabee has pledged his full support for Davis. You may remember the homecoming rally Huckabee put together as Davis was released from jail. Huckabee said that Davis managed to stay true to her convictions, “despite the pressure she was put under by the evil U.S law.”

Huckabee said that he’s “proud of the national hero that is Kim Davis,” and that he would like to make sure she can do her job “in a way that does not cause damage to her Christian conscience.” He continues,

“For someone to be able to go through what she has just gone through just goes to show how powerful our Lord is and how blessed are those who believe in Him. As for us humans who believe in Christ, we under persecution in America today. And because of that, it is up to us to find ways to help each other and be there for one another in our hour of need. And as the old saying goes, ‘res, non verba,’ (meaning, ‘actions, not words’). We should talk less and act more,” Huckabee added.

Oh but it geets even better, Huckabee wants to put the proverb into action! He said this,

“I have already taken steps to ensure she has a better time now that she is once again a free citizen. I have personally urged the pope to issue a diplomatic passport of Vatican to Davis, so that she may never again fall victim to the evil U.S. law that is tearing apart our country. He has assured me that it will be done as a personal favor to me in the shortest possible time.”

One reporter asked Huckabee,

“What will she do once in the Vatican?”

To which Huckabee replied,

“You’ll have to ask her that. My guess is that she won’t go too far away from her duties as a clerk. Who knows, maybe she’ll get to be responsible for determining who the next Pope will be. I mean, she’s already proven that her instincts are accurate,” he replied.

Who Was The Body Language Champion At The Fox News GOP Primary Debate?

One of the most recent favorite toys the news industry loves to pull out of their bag of tricks is the “body language expert.”

Each organization seems to have their own people who deliver a certain message. They give the air of authenticity as well as being impartial. This is a very important commodity for a news organization to have, or at least give the appearance of having.

During the Fox News GOP primary debates, just about every news channel had their own experts analyze every aspect of the candidates body language. Not all the experts agreed, but here is my take on what the consensus had to say about the candidates

Scott Walker

Generic republican ken doll that comes with most GOP play sets. Walker seems very rehearsed and very much so a follower of the pack. He did not jump out as an “Alpha” personality. He bragged about being “normal” at one point I think. He’s a “Meh” candidate.

Marco Rubio

Rubio came across as almost reasonable. I think that was his mission, and he succeeded.

That is just to name a couple who really stood out to me. More later on this.

Shkreli founded Turing Pharmaceuticals, and he took over the rights to a drug called “Daraprim.” This drug is used to treat a condition called “toxoplasmosis”, which is a parasitic infection that can cause deadly complications in infants as well as people with compromised immune systems. Many people with Aids and certain cancer patients take this medication.
